About the idea 

In connection with running a software development company, there was a need to monitor costs and profits to consciously direct its development. This applied to both personnel and project costs.

The company’s management consisted of the owner, which made ongoing monitoring of profits and costs combined with other business responsibilities difficult to reconcile. It was necessary to implement a tool that would inform about emerging project or financial risks in real time, enabling quick reaction to potential threats.

Product analysis results 

After conducting workshops on needs analysis, we concluded that it is necessary to implement software that enables the automation of processes responding to previously identified challenges. 

This is how Timemize was created – a proprietary system, created entirely by our team, based on the Symfony framework on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend. 

About the product

The product contains several modules responsible for the following areas: 

  1. Monitoring module – enabling contractors to view current activities carried out by employees as part of projects conducted for them.
  2. Alert module, which enables sending notifications, for example, in a situation where the project budget is exceeded by 80% or when an employee exceeds the assumed working time.
  3. Report module, allowing for the collective generation of financial and time statements, forming the basis for settlements with contractors, especially in project and service activities.
  4. Monitoring module, enabling contractors to view current activities carried out by employees as part of projects conducted for them.

Achieved Results

This solution, in addition to being actively used within our organization, has also found application in other software development companies. Currently, we are expanding its availability to companies in the legal, construction, and virtual assistance industries. Quick and effective implementation allowed us to verify both the market need and business assumptions, which opened the possibility of launching further areas of cooperation with clients.

The solution has a Google Chrome browser extension and is also available as a mobile application (PWA).
